Dates Active: 2020–2022 (sustained operations through pandemic surges) Mission Focus: Alternate Care Site and Isolation Camp management, clinical staffing, and ESF-8 support Region Impacted: Statewide, Louisiana Scale: Two+ years of continuous statewide response support During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Louisiana faced immense challenges in protecting its communities and expanding healthcare capacity. In response, RSI deployed teams statewide from 2020 to 2022 to support one of Louisiana’s largest public-health mobilizations. The work included establishing and operating Alternate Care Sites and Isolation Camps, as well as conducting large-scale testing and vaccination missions—critical efforts that helped contain the virus and provide essential care when the state needed it most. RSI’s Impact Managed and staffed isolation camps and alternate care sites, providing medical, logistics, and planning support to the State of Louisiana throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
