Hurricane Harvey in 2017 brought unprecedented rainfall, with over 60 inches recorded—setting a new U.S. record. The storm triggered catastrophic flooding, forcing more than 30,000 rescues and displacing over 37,000 people. In total, roughly 300,000 structures were inundated, leaving communities struggling to recover from the historic disaster.
RSI’s Impact
Deployed staff to the Louisiana Department of Health Tactical Operations Center (TOC) to support statewide coordination as Harvey’s flooding affected Louisiana. RSI provided operational staffing, situational tracking, and public-health coordination under ESF-8.
