BDLS® has been developed in partnership with the American Medical Association (AMA) and a wide range of health care providers and public health workers. The courses provide a uniform approach to emergency health preparedness and response. BDLS® is a didactic course that provides broad overview of the weapons of mass destruction/effect as well as discussion of topics of natural disasters, public health and psychological issues in disasters. By teaching multiple disciplines simultaneously, a commonality of approach and communications will develop, improving the care and coordination of response in All-Hazards disaster and public health emergencies.
